Forensic Bibliography and Archival Editing
Throughout the fall 2013 semester, Illinois State University's English 355 class, Forensic Bibliography and Archival Editing, chose documents from the database EEBO (Early English Books Online). Groups were developed in order to determine different presses. Each person was responsible for transcribing and editing a document before digitizing it. Mercury 16 Press chose to bring various pamphlets from the extended sixteenth century to light. This website features one of those documents, a death pamphlet written by William Muggins and printed by Ralph Blower titled "London's Mourning Garment, or Funerall Teares." The main text that was transcribed is featured on this website, as is a TEI (text encoding initiative) version. Additionally, the introduction and references featured in the print edition are available for use.
